How to Use QuickBooks to Manage Your Business Finances (I)

You have started your own business. Now what? You have bills to pay, customer sales to track, and taxes to file which requires paper, paper and more paper. If you have turned to QuickBooks for help, and you you find you would like help using the program, this free SCORE workshop is for you!

This workshop will provide practical, easy-to-use guidance and tips to help ensure that your Chart of Accounts gets you to the right financial information, and that it aligns with your use of QuickBooks. Participants are welcome to bring a laptop with QuickBooks loaded to they can follow along with presenter Elizabeth Santaus. ​

Now that you have formed your non-profit, registered it with federal and state authorities and are beginning operations, managing the enterprise is your next challenge.

This free workshop with Bob Potter will show you how to work with volunteers and lead the organization, plan events and programs, work with a Board of Directors, and develop community partners. It will demonstrate ways to fundraise for your non-profit organization, show you how to create a marketing plan, and explain accounting and periodic reporting. ​

How to Make it Rain: Four Steps to Growing the Bottom Line

The wealth of a business and the business owner's personal wealth are inextricably linked. It is vital that a business reach breakeven quickly and realize strong margin growth for the business owner to achieve the life goals they cherish. This workshop is pertinent to all business owners and will examine Strategy, Messaging, Goal Management, and Resource Management, the four common barriers to successfully growing a business.

The workshop will address a set of questions assessing how well we have clarified the vision, raised customer interest, completed our short-term goals, and invested our valuable resources to create positive change. Brown Bag Seminar: Building Trust in the Workplace

Presented by the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut in partnership with Southeastern CT SCORE. The event is free. Sponsored by Pathways of Growth.

We know from our experience that working in a trusting environment is not only more enjoyable but more productive. But what is trust, how do we build and maintain trust and what steps can we take if trust is missing?

Using examples drawn from the participants' own experiences, we will explore the nature of trust in organizations and how to work with it. We will present a model to guide you and discuss practical steps that will help you improve levels of trust with the people you work with. 

Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch. Registration is required. ​
